Woolworths will take a major step forward in effective data transfer with e-business standards organisation GS1 Australia's GS1net service.
With electronic messaging now implemented between the supermarket chain and its suppliers via GS1net, product information like weight, dimension and pricing can be transferred more simply and accurately than ever before.
The Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN), as it's formally called, is a global standard for data messaging. It is expected to reduce cost for suppliers who up until now had to utilise paper forms unique to Woolworths.
